We all say little white lies from time to time, either to ourselves or others, but they are intended to hurt anyone, they just make certain situations easier to deal with. This is one of the white lies I tell myself often: I really need this book. I love books, and I do judge a book by its cover. If I love the cover I have to buy the book. So to justify to myself this unnecessary expenditure, especially when buying art books that are by no means inexpensive, I convince myself and my husband that I really need it for my work.
